On an assault charge, a judge may add release conditions, so we explain the bond and what it requires.

Questions
Yes, if a court sets a dollar amount and we approve the bond. Assault in Ohio is a first-degree misdemeanor by default and a felony only in listed situations. A family or household case can fall under the domestic violence rules, which can require going before a judge first.
There is no one figure. A misdemeanor assault may follow the court's bail schedule, and on a felony assault a judge sets bail by weighing public safety, how serious the charge is, the person's record, and how likely they are to return to court. The court must pick the lowest amount that should still bring the person back to court. Our felony bail bonds page covers the judge's side.
Courts may order no contact with the alleged victim, travel limits, or monitoring. These sit on top of the bond and must be followed. Missing court can also make the full bond amount due, so keep every date. How bail bonds work explains why that matters to a co-signer.
The fee is 10% of the bond amount, along with court fees. Assault bond fees of 10% are not returned. The court sets the bond amount, and it is set differently on a misdemeanor and a felony charge. Property may be asked for on some bonds. Qualified customers can ask about payment plans. Ask for an assault bond quote
